I can't decide on purchasing a food truck or a food trailer. Which is better?

Trailers

Pros :   Cost is lower than a food truck. Everything is new. Wider span of sizes, There is more space inside (width and height), you can leave your trailer parked at an event while taking your tow vehicle to pick-up supplies if needed. If tow vehicle breaks down a rental can still get you to your event.

Cons :  You need a tow vehicle which adds cost to start, it's harder to back and drive, and you need more space to park.

Food Truck

Pros : Easier to park and back-up, everything is all-in-one vehicle, some events only want trucks, and it's 'cooler' looking.

Cons : Usually cost more to start. Smaller space to work in. If you were to forget something during your shift you are stuck or you have to take your food truck to go get it, if your food truck breaks down-- it is costly to get it fixed,  you will have to cancel your scheduled events for a few days to weeks which results in wasted time and money.

How long will it take for you to do a full custom build?

Yes, you may purchase your own equipment and bring it to our shop

Should I buy a used food truck/food trailer online?

Becareful when buying a used food trailer or food truck that you're not able to inspect in person. If purchased from another state, it is possible that it was built with different requirements and may not pass inspection in your county/state which will be very costly to fix. You may call us or FaceTime while inspecting if unsure. At LM Food Truck Builders, we build using the most updated requirements and regulations needed to PASS the health inspection in North Carolina.
